I have always had a great love for the arts. I took some art classes in college and a basic weaving class, but I am largely self-taught, and continue to challenge myself to learn various techniques. I have been showcased in "In Her Studio" magazine and have won some awards and recognitions.
For many years my style could be described as primitive or southwest folk art with my bright, acrylic paintings. I have now returned to my beloved oils to create my paintings. I am also a fiber artist. I create beautiful shawls on my rigid heddle loom. I also enjoy creating various crafts.
I am inspired by the natural world and I find myself in wonder of the smallest creatures, like caterpillars and butterflies, all the way up to the soaring mountains of Colorado, and lovely sights from my travels. I incorporate these memories and colors into my paintings and shawls. I am inspired by the great painters like John Singer Sargent and Edgar Degas.
